It is based on “Reason, Religion and Loving Kindness”. Don BoscHigh School, Baghchung, a minority educational institution, strives timpart a sound education by cultivating in the pupils habits of piety, virtue, discipline and a high standared of morality while they undertake a course of studies prescribed by the board.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
Imparting in its students a sound education by cultivating in them habits of piety, virtue, self-reliance and discipline while they go through their studies is our aim. Hence particular attention is given to discipline and character formation by means of ethical and moral instruction.
The School encourages student participation in school activities by means of organizations like House System, Clubs etc. which aim at fostering the genuine interests of the students in the sphere of the intellectual and cultural, social and other extra-curricular activities for the complete formation of the student.
VISION AND MISSION
The primary aim of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School – Jorhat is to impart sound formation (religious, moral, social and physical) based on the principles of Reason, Religion and Loving Kindness, to all our students. The school strives to develop the individual personality of each pupil and to bring all their talents and qualities to full maturity.
Aristotle once said that, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is not education at all.” I believe that Aristotle has hit the nail on the head. To educate the heart we need to move beyond “Total literacy mindset” to “Holistic Education mindset”. The world today needs more educated people than literate people. Educationists advocate value-based education as a cure for this malady.
Here at Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School, Baghchung-Jorhat, we try to provide an education based on values, cultures and traditions. We try not only to impart knowledge but also accompany the students to become better human beings. Various activities are beautifully blended with academics to arrive at value-based education.
Don Bosco wanted every one of his students to be good, honest and God centered citizens of the country.
Yours in Don Bosco,
Fr. Linson Louise SDB
